What Is The Difference Between USPS And UPS?
USPS stands for United States Postal Service, and is an independent agency of the U.S. government. USPS is generally less expensive than UPS and they deliver on Saturdays for no additional charge. Delivery dates, however, can be significantly slower than their estimates indicate and tracking can’t be used on items shipped internationally.
UPS stands for United Parcel Service, and is a public business. UPS is generally a bit more expensive than USPS on light items, but often more affordable for heavier items. UPS also offers small discounts when delivering to business addresses versus residential addresses. They have sophisticated tracking capabilities, both within and outside of the U.S. Unlike USPS, UPS’s shipping estimates are fairly reliable, although their estimated shipping times don’t count weekends, and they don’t deliver on Saturdays unless you pay extra for weekend delivery.
